Well, since I am approaching professional status I suppose I have to dress better. I am not fashion savvy and I often need help with work appropriateness.
so first question: is a sleeveless shell acceptable at for business casual? I am trying to find the picture for it, but the Loft doesn't have it on their site anymore.

I don't know if this helps since I'm not exactly fashionable nor am I in the professional world but I was in DECA (a business club) in high school and they told us never to show full arms. If you do have a sleeveless shirt, wear some sort of jacket. I don't know if that still applies but I always stick to it when I go on interviews and such.

cool. I don't think I would ever wear sleeveless to an interview, but we have a very casual department presentation and I don't have a cardigan that will go with this shell that I wanna wear. THank YOu!

I guess it depends on the company itself. I would look at what others are wearing and try to dress a bit like them.
